關共歩作陶、鼠志野茶碗、2026年夏の新作です。

深みのある鼠色を基調とした柚子肌に、緋色や赤褐色が複雑に現れ、ところどころに白釉が流れるように重なった、味わい深い景色の茶碗です。大きく張った胴に対して口縁は不均整に歪み、荒々しい土味と相まって、力強く存在感のある姿に仕上がっています。見込みにも深い鼠色の釉調が広がり、内外で異なる表情を楽しむことができます。

關共歩先生は、できるだけ自ら採取した土や石を使い、「地面から生えてきたような器」を目指して制作されています。2002年に瀬戸市で工房を構え、2018年に多治見市市之倉町へ工房を移転。2024年には第16回現代茶陶展に初入選するなど、茶陶の分野でも活動の幅を広げています。

關先生ならではの不均整な造形と、鼠色、緋色、白釉が織りなす荒々しくも深みのある景色が魅力の一碗です。

This is a Nezumi Shino tea bowl by Kyoho Seki, a newly created work in Summer 2026.

The deep gray surface has a distinctive yuzu-skin texture, with complex shades of crimson and reddish brown emerging across the glaze. In places, the white glaze flows gently over the surface, creating a rich and varied landscape.

The broad, rounded body is complemented by an irregularly warped rim, while the rough texture of the clay gives the bowl a powerful and distinctive presence. The interior is also covered in a deep gray glaze, offering a different expression from the exterior.

Kyoho Seki creates his ceramics using clay and stones that he collects himself whenever possible, with the aim of creating vessels that appear to have “grown from the earth.” He established his kiln in Seto in 2002 and moved his studio to Ichinokura, Tajimi, in 2018. In 2024, he was selected for the 16th Contemporary Tea Ceremony Ceramics Exhibition for the first time, further expanding his work in the field of tea ceramics.

The bowl is characterized by Seki’s distinctive irregular form and the rugged yet deeply expressive interplay of gray, crimson, reddish brown, and white glaze.
