土岐市で作陶を続ける白山窯、山田正和先生による鳴海織部茶碗です。

鳴海織部は、白土と赤土を組み合わせ、織部釉や白泥、鉄による文様を施す、色彩豊かな織部の一種です。

本作は、赤褐色から茶褐色の力強い土味をベースに、白い部分と濃緑色の織部釉、黒褐色の鉄の文様が重なり、複雑な景色を生み出しています。口縁から流れる織部釉の濃淡や、自然な土の凹凸も見どころです。

また、正面を中心に見られるひび割れ（クラック）について、山田先生からは、自然の土を用いているため、焼成時の収縮によって生じたもので、作品の景色として捉えていただきたいとお聞きしています。

土味と釉薬、焼成による変化が一体となった、山田正和先生らしい味わい深い鳴海織部茶碗です。

This is a Narumi Oribe tea bowl by Masakazu Yamada of Hakusan Kiln, who continues to create ceramics in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture.

Narumi Oribe is a type of Oribe ware that combines white and red clay, decorated with Oribe glaze, white slip, and iron-painted motifs. Its rich and varied colors are one of its distinctive characteristics.

This piece features a strong reddish-brown to brown clay body, accented by lighter areas, deep green Oribe glaze, and dark brown iron-painted motifs, creating a complex and expressive surface. The variations in the Oribe glaze flowing down from the rim, along with the natural unevenness and texture of the clay, are also highlights of the piece.

The cracks, particularly visible on the front, are another distinctive feature. According to Mr. Yamada, they were caused by the natural clay shrinking during the firing process, and he considers them part of the piece's overall character and scenery.

The earthy texture, glaze, and changes created through firing come together beautifully in this deeply expressive Narumi Oribe tea bowl, characteristic of Masakazu Yamada's work.
