小川 哲央作陶、穴窯焼成 鼠志野ぐい吞です。
Aka (Red) Shino Guinomi (sake cup) made by Tetsuo Ogawa and fired in an anagama (wood-fired) kiln.

採掘から調合まで自身で行われた長石釉を用いられており、穴窯の中の炎の巡りの違いで長石釉の発色が異なり、同じ作品でも全く違う顔を見せてくれます。本作品は、鼠色と緋色の発色がはっきり分かれており窯ならではの面白さが見られます。
The piece is glazed with a feldspar glaze that the artist personally prepared, from mining the raw materials to blending them. Due to variations in the movement of flames within the anagama (wood-fired) kiln, the color expression of the feldspar glaze changes, giving each piece a completely unique character even among works of the same type. In this particular piece, the distinct separation between the gray and scarlet hues showcases the fascinating effects unique to wood-fired kilns.
