オーロラ織部は、普通に焼いて緑色にしか焼けないはずの織部の焼き方に変化を与えることで、まるで七色に煌めくオーロラが浮かび上がる小川先生のオリジナル作品です。
Aurora Oribe is an original creation by Ogawa, achieved by altering the standard Oribe firing technique—which typically produces only a green glaze—to evoke the appearance of a shimmering, multicolored aurora emerging on the surface.
オーロラ織部は、通常とは異なる還元焼成と長時間の焼き入れが施されており、時にはオーロラが現れ、時には本作品のように茶褐色に変色します。正面の鉄絵がアクセントになっており、見込みの鮮やかなグリーンが織部を主張しています。
The Aurora Oribe is created through a unique reduction firing process and extended firing time, which can at times produce an aurora-like iridescence, while in other cases—such as this piece—result in a tea-brown coloration. The iron-painted design on the front serves as an accent, while the vivid green glaze inside the bowl strongly embodies the essence of Oribe ware.
