This is an Aurora Oribe Guinomi by Tetsuou Ogawa, wood-fired in an anagama kiln. A new work for the Summer 2026 collection.

オーロラ織部は、本来であれば緑色に焼き上がる織部に独自の焼成技法を施すことで、まるで七色に煌めくオーロラのような表情を生み出した、小川哲央先生のオリジナル作品です。
Aurora Oribe is Ogawa's original creation, achieved through his unique firing technique that transforms Oribe ware—normally fired to a rich green—into a surface reminiscent of the shimmering colors of the aurora.

通常の織部とは異なる還元焼成と長時間にわたる焼成によって生み出される景色は、一点ごとに大きく異なります。本作品は、織部特有の深みのある緑を残しながらも、茶褐色や紫色へ、一部は薄いブルーへと美しく窯変しており、複雑で味わい深い表情を見せています。
The scenery created through an unconventional reduction firing process and prolonged firing varies dramatically from piece to piece. This example retains the deep green characteristic of traditional Oribe while displaying beautiful kiln-induced transformations into reddish-brown, violet, and even delicate touches of pale blue, creating a remarkably rich and complex surface.

正面に描かれた鉄絵が力強いアクセントとなり、見込みには鮮やかな織部グリーンが広がります。複雑な色彩を纏った外観と鮮やかな緑との対比が美しく、オーロラ織部ならではの個性と魅力を存分にお楽しみいただける逸品です。
The iron-painted motif on the front provides a bold visual accent, while the interior reveals the vivid emerald green that is the hallmark of Oribe ware. The striking contrast between the intricately colored exterior and the brilliant green interior beautifully highlights the unique character and appeal of Aurora Oribe, making this an exceptional and truly one-of-a-kind work.
