Ai (indigo) shino chawan (teabowl) made by Morio Asahi. This tea bowl is a sister piece to the work that received the Tono Shinkin Bank Award at the 2026 Mino Tea Bowl Exhibition, and it is an equally magnificent work of art.
長石釉とコバルト釉を用いることで、美しく発色したコバルトブルーの中に白釉が顔を覗かせており、それが藍志野という作品の所以になっています。さらに、素地に鬼板粒をブレンドした土を使うことで、焦げて黒くなった板粒と藍色のコントラストが生まれています。
By using feldspar glaze and cobalt glaze, a beautiful cobalt blue is achieved, with the white glaze peeking through, which is the origin of the piece's name, "Ai-shino." Furthermore, by using clay blended with iron sand particles in the base, a contrast is created between the scorched, blackened iron sand particles and the indigo blue color.
