關 共歩　鼠志野 茶碗②　Kyoho Seki, Nezumi shino tea bowl #2

關 共歩作陶、鼠志野茶碗です。前回、掲載した關さんの鼠志野茶碗は、ほぼ即日に完売してしまいましたが、その作品とほぼ同時期に造られた作品です。柚子肌に鼠色と緋色がバランス良く混ざり、大ぶりで荒々しい表装が特徴です。
Nezumi shino tea bowl made by Seki Kyōho. The previous Nezumi shino by Seki that we featured sold out almost immediately, but this piece was created around the same time as that work. It features a yuzu-hada (citrus-like texture) surface with a well-balanced mix of gray ("mouse-colored") and scarlet tones, characterized by its large, bold, and dynamic form.

關さんは2018年に独立して多治見市に工房をかまえられました。直近の2024年には、關さんが作陶された茶碗が、陶芸作家の登竜門と言われる現代茶陶展に初入選を果たすなど、これから益々の活躍が期待される作家さんです。自ら採取した土を使い、いびつに回転する自作の手回し轆轤を用いてオリジナリティーの高い作品を造られ、年に2，3回しか窯焼きをされないため、世に出る作品はそれほど沢山ありません。
Seki established his own studio in Tajimi City after becoming independent in 2018. Most recently, in 2024, his tea bowl was selected for the Contemporary Ceramic Art for Tea Exhibition, widely regarded as a gateway to success for ceramic artists. He is a promising artist whose future achievements are highly anticipated. Using clay he gathers himself and his handmade manually-operated potter's wheel, which intentionally rotates irregularly, he creates highly original works. Since he fires his kiln only two or three times a year, the number of pieces released to the public is relatively limited.
